Q. Content of some sites appears garbled. What do I do?
Ans. This is possibly because you do not have the right fonts installed. eg. Loksatta requires the 'LokWeb' font to be installed. We have kept some common marathi scripts fonts for download on our site. You can find them here.
If incase content of the site appears garbled even after font installation, do notify us regarding the same so that we'll update our font library. You can inform us about the problem at webmaster@marathiss.com , or leave us feedback regarding the same on our Contact Us page.
Q. How can I find some specific link in the Sangraha using SangrahaShodhbeta ?
Ans. SangrahaShodhbeta is a search utility that searches links within our Sangraha. To use SangrahaShodhbeta, you will need to first select a category from the Sangraha index page (http://www.marathiss.com/sangraha/).
Within each category page, the SangrahaShodhbeta textbox appears where you can type your search query. SangrahaShodhbeta would look for matches between Sangraha links (link name and description) and any of the search phrases.
eg: If the search phrase is "marathi example", SangrahaShodhbeta would look for "marathi" OR "example" in title or description of any link in the selected category.
Q. How are links in the Sangraha ranked and ordered/sorted?
Ans. You can rate any weblink in the Sangraha. To do so, click on the appropriate star.
The rating of any weblink is the net average of all ratings given so far.
The weblinks are however, ordered based on their ranking. Ranking is done on total value of the ratings and the total value is the net sum of all ratings so far. Thus, if link A has ratings 4 and 5 given by individual users, and link B has a 5 star rating given by just one user, then link A would be ranked higher than link B since total value of A (4+5=9) is greater than that of B (which is 5).
Note: You can rate any Sangraha weblink only once, So take care when you do so.
Q. I clicked on a link within the Sangraha but the site cannot be found. Why is this happening? What do I do?
Ans. If your internet is working fine, then it could mean that the link in our Sangraha is broken. This could be a
- a temporary breakage (caused due to the target site being down for some time) or..
- a permanent breakage (caused perhaps because the site no longer exists at that address).
Although our system is constantly refreshing and checking for broken links, we can never be too sure!
Hence, we request you to report such broken links at webmaster@marathiss.com , or leave us feedback regarding the same on our Contact Us page. If its a permanently broken link, we will remove the link from our sangraha or try and update the address.
